When you find a way to explain this to your wife, call mine and give her the same story! I also have several hundred catalogs in piles, trying to accumulate references of different colonial series. Although I'm not documenting everything, I had hoped to put together a binder with each of the top twenty or thirty plated examples I can locate for each variety of MA Silver, VT's, Machin's...etc. I have actually found plated examples of colonials that both my brother and I own, some going back to sales from as early as 1975. (where the pedigree had been unknown for probably ten years) I enjoy knowing as much as possible about my coins. There is no doubt in my mind that Garrett, Taylor, and Hearns pieces trade hands without either party ever knowing the pedigree. Catalogs are great!...As they say, Knowledge is Power! Let me know how your project comes along, or if you would ever consider joining forces, comparing catalog inventories,...etc. -Chris
