Re: [Colonial Numismatics] Where is the Stack's cataloHi Dan, Usually Stack's has this catalog out much earlier than this year's. There must have been a glitch somewhere... a late consignment...problems with the printer...any one of a number of things. I'm fortunate enough to live close enough to drive or take a train, but I sure can sympathize with you and Buell with respect to travel logistics. I can sympathize with Stack's situation right now, because C4 had a late catalog a couple years ago. That was due to a very late consignment and postal problems on top. The auction REALLY needed that consignment. Fortunately, most members don't make their decision on attending the convention based strictly on the auction, but some do. Hopefully consignors will be aware of this in the future and have the coins to Tom R by the Summer ANA. Must get back to work... Dan, don't forget to email me the specific info on the board group.

I was told that the catalog was mailed Thursday. Buell is right that this is too late. It's also not posted on the web site. It Stack's had time to get it printed why isn't this catalog on the web site. As with Buell, the likelihood that I can make it to the auction is now pretty low.
Dan
P.S. Buell, if Angie would care to have a talk with me wife about bid encouragement, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Does anyone have the Stack's catalog yet? This auction starts 1/21, i.e. in less than 12 days. This Americana sale is one I might someday go to if there are lots I'd like to buy. I'd really have trouble arranging such a trip (cross country flight, time away from work, etc.) on such short notice. How should I set my expectations for future catalogs? I.e. does anyone know what Stack's is shooting for, in terms of catalogs in customer's hands? The C4 catalog is less of an issue for me as I generally already have my plans to be there.
And if I'm going to bring my wife to encourage me to bid higher, I need a good three weeks so she can arrange daycare.
Buell
