I was reviewing a late 1990s Bowers catalog and came across what they
described as a bronze Myddleton Copper Co. restrike.

The description mentioned that the originals were struck 1805 -06 or
so, and the restrikes made approximately 90 years later.

I've never heard of a restrike of this issue before, and noted that
the catalog photo looked like the originals I have seen and it sold
for $3750 or so, which sounds like 'original' money.

Are there really restrikes of this coin?

    JA
