A number of the colonial coins sold in the Benson Collection by
Goldberg were indicated as having been purchased by Dr. Benson from
Ira Reed in the 1940s.
I've recently been tracing a few other coins back to Wayte Raymond in
the 1940s and was curious if Ira Reed was a similarly high profile
dealer at that same time.
Anybody have any information on him? - 2003-04-11
