I surrender!! I spent the afternoon at a camera show
with every intention of buying a digital camera for
taking pictures of coins. I wanted the ability to
take nice single shots of a coin, as seen so often on
this site, and get even closer shots of defects on the
date or some other detail on the coin. I was over
whelmed with information and detail and at the same
time did not seem to be getting any answers to
questions that I was asking (perhaps my questions were
just wrong). Evidently digital video cameras can take
close ups better when used in a single shot mode than
single shot cameras? SLR is better but more expensive
    than non SLR? etc?
Sooo, my question to you is very specific. To each of
you that are posting such great pictures, what exactly
do you use??? And if you had to buy a new camera,
what whould you be thinking of getting? Why?
I admit that I am pretty much lost when talking to the
sales people. I don't know what is truth and what is
    hype. Thanks Roger
