    the time period, ie; the lettering is different then the reverse lettering=

    The D/S is a counterfeit, BTW, Les, despite its having been certified=20

    What did you think about the 1785 date. From the close up, it looks=20
    as though the "85" were later punched into the die, over another=20
    date. The seller says that the coin is struck and not cast and no=20
    engraving,..........what do you think????? It is interesting!

    Inconclusive, but I will be checking it against the known varieties=20
    before it closes. At least two new varieties have been discovered=20
    since Newman's '88 article, both in England. Actually I think Anton's=20
    example was brought over from England before Newman's article was=20
    published.
