Steve, I played almost every Acoustic Guitar in Sam Ash's Store. And, I didn't like anything except a nice Taylor Guitar for about $2500.00. Since this was a little out of my price range, I settled for the Guild. (they both are set up with the fishman pickup) Everything else sounded "tintee" to me. Nothing (except the taylor) had the full deep "basee" sound that I was looking for. The Guild has a "dark" sound similar to my gibson but still does not compare. John *****************************

You can't beat the Jumbo Gibsons for full sound, but if you were looking for an inexpensive alternative, I'm surprised you didn't go to an Epiphone...I almost bought a Guild 12-string from John Hall (Orleans) up in Woodstock about 10 years ago but thought $600.00 was a little high...I wish I could get it now.....(non-electric acoustic)
