    David,
The last General standing is the winning General. The Confederacy did =
have some great military minds, Lee being the best, but Grant and his offic=
ers eventually proved through ability and resources that they were part of =
the superior army. Down South the Civil War is known as the Battle to Pres=
erve State Rights and up North it is known as the Battle for the Preservati=
on of the Union. If any of you are at a convention where EAC Dealer Steve =
Ellsworth (nice guy) has a table, he always enjoys good discussions about t=
he Civil War. He has some nice colonials too.=20=20
David, I'm still waiting for your Troop to camp at Quail Hill Scout Res=
ervation and do the Battle of Monmouth Hike. It's close enough where I mig=
ht be able to join you at your campfire...

Ray, There is Fort A.P. HILL where the National Boy Scout jamboree is hal=
    d
every 4 years. I believe he as well as Jackson were "winning" generals, f=
    or
years, just didn't end up winning. David

    Robert,
I remember Tank Hill well. Our unit was Charlie -1-1. I learned a l=

in those 8 weeks. Then off to Benning and Gordon. Were all these Forts
named after Confederate Generals? They should be named after some winnin=

    Ray,
I went through FT Jackson also; 'Tank Hill.' I think they bulldozed th=

down for the newer units, the ones with 'air conditioning' and bigger
latrines (instead of the one shower per 60 soldiers). Fun was.
