Here's something to take our minds off of metallurgy and Mr. Nedick heads. =
I noticed small spikes protruding from the left side near the top of the fi=
rst two ordinals of this V.14-84A. I haven't been able to see this feature =
on any auction lot images of this variety but suspect it may be there on al=
l 84As but can't be seen unless the image is high resolution or taken with =
the proper lighting - you'll notice in the image that certain other tiny de=
tails seem to disappear under different lighting angles.=20
Anyway, I would appreciate it if those of you who may own an example of thi=
s variety please check under magnification to see if this feature is presen=
t on your specimen. I would also like to hear some ideas as to what these t=
iny spikes are.
