Robert Martin is the keeper of the Connecticut census. In the notes I have
on this particular coin, Robert did not disagree with Mike's grade, and
indicates that the coin sold TO George Perkin's at $1155 in 1994, in the
Stack's Sale of June 8th, lot #216. It was bought from Perkins for the
stated $1150, by Bob Rhue who is a gentleman that knows how PCGS grades. My
feeling is the Bob disagreed, or felt that PCGS would( no mystery there),
and submitted same. Is it really a major profit? I submit that an AU piece
in a lesser sale than Perkin's, where everyone was keying in on those lots
they NEEDED to help complete their sets, SHOULD have sold for more at the
sale. NOW, that said, I suspect the coin will sell for some ridiculous
price based SOLELY upon PCGS's opinion, which is a travesty. The coin was
noted in the lot descrition as " Hillyer Ryder called this coin
uncirculated". I did not, when I viewed it. Make up your own mind, as to
what it's true grade is. David

Who's maintaining the census? You mean POP reports. They are 
maintained by PCGS. The "Third Party" thing guarantees accuracy, 
honesty, etc.
