book-keeping & ledgers for domestic & foreign trade. Importantly,
this is the 1st ed. to contain 22pp. on produce & commerce of the
tobacco colonies Virginia & Maryland, incl. 1748 dated forms &
tables for voyages carrying hogsheads of tobacco, approx. 5 actual
ships & captains named for ships carrying products between Virginia
& England. Also mention of specific places in Virginia & Maryland
including Potomac River, Port-Royal, Fredericksburgh, James River,
York River, Chesapeake Bay, Wicomico, Nomony, Mattox, Rapahannock,
South-Potomack, & other places. Sample 10pp. ledger on Westmoreland
Cty., Va. Much text describing specific goods carried including,
beaver skins, sugar, rum, tobacco, lumber, wheat, spices, indigo,
corn, silk, cotton cloth, pork, much more.Some voyages between
Barbados & Virginia carrying rum & sugar. Also 5pp. descrip. of
foreign coins of various countries, in the Virginia & Maryland
section there is mention of specific foreign gold & siver coins,
