I heard my great-grandfather was nuts. He had been normal, but he fell a few stories down an elevator shaft while working. (While building the Flat Iron building in NYC) It made all the papers back then. I guess it was odd he lived, but he whacked his head pretty bad and went a little nuts. Most people ask me "Well what's your excuse?"

Dementia units tend to be somewhere between assisted living and
nursing homes in mnay regsards but with added features to make sure
residents don't wander off. Alzheimer's is perhaps the most
well-known but there are other diseases causing dementia.
But I've never heard of one with AK-47s. But then I live in a blue
state; always have.

P.S. If you find yourself needing a padded room, there's no need to
move permanently. We could find a place for you to check in and
bounce for a while.
