Regarding the gold St. Patrick the additional pedigree information is
very useful and important. I can find NO reason to doubt the
authenticity of this coin. Everything about this coin looks right to
    me.

These dies have been used to make copper farthings. I have photographs
of four farthings that are a perfect match for this coin. They range
    in
    grade from VG-EF.

Also notice how similar the gold coin is to lot #4 the silver coin.
Same style (family if you will) and most of the letter punches match.

For the most part I have observed that the Breen copper 208s and
    silver
210s (nothing under the King) with minimal punctuation are the best
    executed.

I do disagree with Mike's hunch that this gold coin may have been made
a few years after the copper and silver coins were produced. I have
made it a point to study the edges carefully and I have seen wide
    course
edging on many farthings as well as some of the shillings. The picture
of the gold coin is excellent and the fabric of the coin looks right
    to
    me.

I still don't think the magnitude of this series is fully understood.
Two hundred and fifty plus varieties of farthings. Most showing a
    great
deal of circulation wear and tear. A large number of halfpence at
    least
at one time. Many more varieties of shillings than was previously
thought to exist. There is even a well worn halfpence struck in silver
that pedigrees back to the 18th century as well as a martlet under the
king farthing proof that is struck in lead.

Irish gold is very rare. About a dozen pistoles and double pistoles
from the civil war period have survived. It is remarkable that this
    St.
    Patrick has as well.

    My two cents worth,
    Stan
