Chris, I had used EZSnipe, and left them for AuctionSniper. Guess what,
same BS with them. Seems the more important the coin is to me, and the
harder it is for me to bid myself, the more often I get snookered. Roger
just won a lovely Boyish George piece, and AuctionSniper said they couldn't
log on to leave my bid! They are all alike. As to bidding on the 1781 that
captmachin won, I got a similar message that said I couldn't bid, as he
    only wanted UK bidders. David

I was surprised more of you didn't see this coin. (The
1781 ebay item that sold...not the one that was
pulled)
Roger, I tried to bring it up three times on the chat
group the other night....but nobody seemed interested.
(?) Or maybe my posts were lost amongst the metal
detecting chat.
Anyway, I guess I can chalk one up in the 'lessons
learned the hard way' column. I was on that piece from
day one, and was determined to snipe it fair and
square.
Anyway, I had a bid programmed with EZ-Snipe (anyone
else ever use this service?)....and with 2 seconds
left I got an error message!
This snipe software REJECTED my bid!...and responded
that the item is only for sale to a UK address. (?)
I'm not sure why or how, because captmachin is also
registered in the US.
Anyway, I would have paid much more, but somehow "the
captain" beat me out.....did this happen to anyone
else?
Oh well, these are obviously common anyway.....3 on
eBay in 7 days.

P.S.-Byron, I didn't get the other "off-eBay" piece
either. :)
