Well, let's start by going to the files created during the second
month of existence for this group by Mike Ringo. There, in the
counterfeit halfpence file, you will find images of the two different
varieties of counterfeits bearing this same 1794-dated reverse, and
one has this same obverse. This variety seems to be the most common,
if that can be said, and I would have to agree with the seller's
approximation of rarity, but just for this variety in particular.
Overall 1794-dated counterfeits are considerably "scarcer" than say
1785-dated counterfeits, and I know of only three people who own both
of these varieties - which should give you some clue as to the
relative rarity of the other variety. There is also a third variety
with this reverse married to a Geo. II obverse that most people don't
know about. As far as I know it is currently still "unique."
I think you've gotten one of the better bargains on eBay lately,
Steve, right up there and perhaps surpassing some others recently won
on eBay - one of those from this same seller!
    Promise kept.
    Byron
