Ray...everytime I add more space it just disappears....I had to give away most of my National Geographic's I'd accumulated over the years to make room. I really enjoyed them. The early editions were easy to give away...but I still have most of the issued from the 50;s onward. The articles and photo's are great. I held on to the "Americana" issues, shipwreck treasure, and some others. It was always good to have them when something happened in the world and I could look up the country and read about it.(many have changed, but the history of that country from the time of issue was the same) When the US went into Afghanistan, the first thing I looked at was the famous issue with the young Afghan girl on the cover....very possibly the most beautiful eye's I have ever seen in my life on a very attractive girl....I'm sure you know the issue I'm talking about. (She was found years later and an update was done...people in that part of the world, living such a hard life do not age well,
but she did survive) Sorry for going off the path...I included a photo though...the internet has everything I have on my book shelf I guess.

    Steve,
That just shows how disorganized my diningroom table is... I just held the ladle with the edge toward the lens. I do use this ladle - only for Thanksgiving Dinner though, when it's at my house. Otherwise this collects dust.

Here are several pictures os the ladle. The diameter of the lip of the bowl is approximately 58 mm. Thanks for the help.

    John and Phil,
Thanks for the input - this is great. I'll try to post a couple pictures but I don't know how well they'll turn out. I suspect the lip of the ladle's bowl ia approximately the size of the coin. If so, I would guess that this was a crown sized coin, assuming that a Half Crown would be about the size of a Half Dollr.
    Ray
