    Guys,
From personal experience, it is miserable detecting on the beach during the Summer. If it was a last minute trip, the day after a storm, and it was still overcast... great. But I'd wait until a good day in October. If the coins have been there 200 years, a couple more months won't make a difference! It would be a fun field trip to report back about - especially if one of us would get lucky and find something from the period. Also, a report about a trip to the museum might be something nice to post here and in the C4 Newsletter (with pictures).
