Steven Bellin and Roger deWardt Lane sent an article
with details on the Philippine bank note error:"A press statement issued by the Bangko Sentral ng
Pilipinas Sunday advised the public it had received
"a batch of P100 banknotes bearing the misspelled
surname of the President, a small number of which
had been released."The central bank said it has apologized to the
President for the mistake.The statement did not say was the typographical
error was but The Times learned from a central bank
insider that Arroyo appears as "Arrovo" in the bill.
The source also said a few thousand bills had been
printed before the mistake was spotted.The central bank gave the assurance that the
misprinted banknotes are "considered legal tender
