Hey all,
=20
New 1781 variety.
=20
We did discuss this before but at that time I had such a poor scanned image of this grounder that I just backed off. I now have a better image and joined it with my present 1781 N.40-81A.
=20
I see a clear difference on the reverse between the Sprig and Sprig Hand. I also see date numeral location differences. Actually there seems to be minor differences to the obverses as well, especially the Ribbon Ends. Granted this is not a good example being a grounder and I agree that some of these differences could be the consequences of burial, BUT not the differences in the Sprig placement, number of leaves and overall Sprig design.
=20
I haven't had a chance to ask Gary to do an overlay yet but soon will.
=20
What do you think now?
=20
Thanks,
Clem
