    e CEORCIVIS KEY DATE!

This is not a 1775, here is a close up on the date. I understand where yo=
u are coming from, and I expected this reaction from knowledgeable coin col=
lectors as yourself. I assure you that this is a 1776, and that this is the=
correct weight in grains. If you look into the counterfits produced, you w=
ill see that the vfast majority of them were much lighter than the authenti=
c piece, and a few were much heavier. This coin has been looked at by many =
dealers and specialists. I did expect this reaction on ebay, that is why I =
have reserved an auction slot at the coin show. No harm done. But here's a =
list of reasons why this coin is not a counterfeit:

    1. Aging. The natural aging of the patina on this coin correlates to the =
date. If this is a counterfeit, it could only be of the ones made during th=
e original time period of this coin. And all of those specific counterfeits=
were supposively seized and melted down, only making this "counterfeit" a=
    s you suspect even rarer.

    2. Positioning of the "5". This is a 1776. The 6 resembles a five. Apon c=
loser inspection of the picture i send you you will easily see that. Anyway=
s, if it were a five it would have to mean that one mark on the press was o=
ff out of the entire coin. That is highly unlikely, even for a counterfiet.=
    =20

    3. I have obtained this coin from a highly respected dealer who will be a=
t the show, and I doubt he would lead me to believe this is real, (even tho=
ugh I already did the research), if it were counterfiet. Especially when he=
plans to be there during the auction.

    4. The counterfeits in question were made very poorly resembling the mach=
in mills brand. Any familiar coin collector would easily see that. If you h=
ave any questions. Feel free to email me back.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and tell=
you that this is not a 'Machin's Mills' issue and that it is not dated 177=
    6.=20
It is a British made counterfeit dated 1775=
from the Atkins-232 Family of counterfeits. Rather than me getting into a =
protacted explanation here I'd be happy to send you further information via=
    direct email.=20
Unfortunately the Redbook's listing of 'Mac=
hin's Mills' issues causes a lot of exuberant enthusiasm that is most often=
misplaced on British made counterfeits, as is the case here.=20
