Hi all --
Since I was booted off this eGroup (and C4) by the moderator for=20 reasons that are uncertain to me, I must sneak in the back door like=20 this in order to post a message.
Of the several hundred persons who are members of this eGroup, only=20 about 10 or so use it any longer for communnication purposes. This=20 group, like the eSIGs, has been ruined by a bunch of jerks with posts=20 similar to the following, and you each know who you are. Communications=20 between those seriously interested in Early American numismatics is now=20 accomplished privately on the Internet.
My recommendation is that this eGroup be cancelled by the moderator as=20 it now longer serves any useful purpose to those of us who would like=20 to discuss Early American numismatics.
Shamus

John, I agree that these posts look bad for the group, and are=20 personally distressing to me, as well. I have no idea what happened last night. I don't think it was a full moon, but Steve gets like that once in=20 awhile, and I think most of us have learned to turn it off when he does it.=20 I think to some extent, Stan has felt put upon on the group, of late,=20 due to his not being able to share some info, as yet, and he has been taken=20 to task for that. It is confidential, at this time, partly due to the book=20 in the works, and the amount of time and $ spent to get to the point of research they are at. I offer no excuse for Stan's post last night, as=20 it took me totally by surprise.=20 I must assume the moderator is out of town, as he usually handles=20 outbursts like that quite quickly. I would hope we can handle it ourselves=20 without quitting.=20 I think even the lurkers on the group have something to offer. We have=20 had posts from a couple over the last few weeks, and I look forward to=20 more. You have become a central figure to the group, sometimes keeping us on point, and sometimes, thankfully taking us off point. I would hate to=20 see you, or anyone else on the group quit over a couple of stupid posts. I=20 know I have made a couple in the past. David
