Hi All, I've read the posts of the last day concerning the content of the C4 Newsletter and the Colonial Newsletter (CNL). Many good points have been brought up here and I appreciate all of them. Both of the editors, Syd Martin for the C4 Newsletter and Gary Trudgen for CNL, are very qualified and have the best interests of the hobby at heart. They are both personal friends of mine. I trust that both will work together and continue to produce quality products. If you spend a little time reading several issues of C4N and CNL, you can see that there are obvious differences in content. I don't believe that there is a strict definition of precisely what should be in one publication or the other. There is some overlap. I leave it to the judgment of both editors to make these decisions. In my mind, there isn't and shouldn't be a competition here. Both publications are a very important part of my (your) hobby enjoyment. The important idea that you should walk away with, from all these related posts, is that there is a NEED FOR ARTICLES. There are none too short and none too long. If you have a coin in your collection that has something interesting or unusual, you could provide a picture and a line or two about your observation. The article might be only a couple inches in print, but if you found it interesting, others would too. If you can't take a picture, let me know and we'll get it photographed. Articles come in all sizes and we need all of them. Let the editors judge their merit - don't assume that others aren't interested. That being said, I hope I've inspired some of you to submit articles to C4N or CNL. If you have an idea for an article and want advice, email the editors and they will be happy to advise and guide you!
