Hello all,
If you have the images of Rays' Oak, compare the reverse to lot #45 in=20
the Hain catalog. His coin is a 13.3. The shape and spacing of the 5=20
and 2 in the date, as well as the numerals X11 match. You can tell=20
right away by the base of the tree that it is not a "straight"=20
thirteen. You can tell by the fact that the 5 in the date is not hook=20
curved enough, to rule out a fourteen.
The intermediate states have the buckling causing a streaking across=20
the obverse. Although Rays coin is worn through that area you can see=20
the streaking from A to T which weakens that area to begin with.
The Hain catalog is the best reference available for these states=20
hands down.
