Hi Jeff,
Image file sharing has opened up a whole new can of worms in respect to cop=
yright, and it seems that everyone has their own opinions about it, and oth=
ers who don't care simply because they don't understand it.
As a matter of practicality asking someone not to publish your images is yo=
ur word against theirs. However, publishing photos without specific written=
permission is still a copyright violation - but hey, that's just my opinio=
n, at least until someone pisses me off enough to actually do something abo=
ut it.
As far as I'm concerned I'm sharing images that those who have their email =
option turned on for this group are welcome to save for their own pleasure,=
but I have not given them permission, nor is it implied that I've also giv=
en them permission to publish those images without my permission, over the =
internet or in print.
I would hope that this issue never comes to a head but unfortunately there =
are others who obviously don't interpret copyright law the way that I do, a=
nd as they have said it is not law until it's decided in a court of law.

Hey Guys, had to chime in on this one -- I think if someone posts a file =
here they should know that anyone who is a member of the group can download=
it and save it. While you could ask people not to do so, chances are you =
wish will not be granted by everyone, especially if it is a neat coin.
Perhaps clearly labelling the piece, and putting a copyright notice on th=
e picture would make some think about using it in any way, but I would gues=
s that area was legally murky at best.
The other option is to privately e-mail such images to people you know wh=
o will follow your instructions, but then a lot of people who may be intere=
sted won't have the chance to see something.
In the end, a public domain is...as Jim pointed out...public.
