Just saw this auction on eBay entitled: Sterling Silver "Siege Money"=20
Possibly Colonial US !!!. As the former owner, I can tell you it is NOT=20
in any way colonial. The are several "counterstamps/strikes" which are=20
incused (reversed). I tracked down several of these - one was post 1822=20
and the largest one seen in the photo is VR - standing for Victoria=20
Regina in the mid-late 1800s...certainly neither from colonial/pre-Fed=20
times as these two alone are from 30-60+ years apart... The current=20
owner is fully aware of this information as it was disclosed when sold.=20
This is an interesting piece in the "odd/strange" category - perhaps a=20
spoon handle that someone "played with," but I could not in good=20
conscience allow this description to stand, especially with the poor=20
photo. If you decide to bid, please bid accordingly.
All the best.
