Just a word to the wise who do a lot of business on eBay, there has been a =
marked increase recently of eBay sellers using "borrowed" images. Be carefu=
l with sellers who you've never heard of before suddenly having a slew of c=
olonials for sale. Be sure to ask the seller if the picture is of the actua=
l item for sale, and read their response carefully as some of them think po=
sting a borrowed image that is close enough to an image of the actual item =
is good enough and will still tell you that yes it is the actual item when =
it is not.=20
Here is an example response I received recently when I asked about a the pi=
cture of a coin that was obviously photographed in an NGC slab.
"you must be looking at something else. There's no slab pictured.=20
This coin/medal is a pewter copy of the one pictured. Not exact, but very c=
lose."
Some of these "new" colonial sellers have _ _ _ _ for brains, and that is p=
utting it politely.
