[1] Cast Evasion
Normally known as Atkins 5, Cobwright A.0005/U.0010 Alfred the Great - Unity and Peace.
It should follow that if a coin is going to be cast, it normally is a most common variety. This holds true on this very common evasion.
Note on the obverse head that the entire back of the head is actually unfilled with the other usual unfilled holes in various locations and is combined with a very poor metal mixture too boot. Another typical effect of poorly mixed metal is the dark gray appearance splotched over the coin. The reverse shows even more of this mottled splotching.
