Yesterday, my son had asked me to climb up the 300 or so steep, granite
steps to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument. Here was my reward. There is a
great episode of 'History Detectives', on PBS, regarding this piece and it's
sister cannon, which I believe was one of the main items for which the
British march to concord had been ordered. The gaping hole in this one's
barrel is explained in the URL below.
