Good Morning Friends! There was some posts about OT (Off Topic) discussions here over this pa= st week. I agree with those that consider this forum an informal gathering= of numismatists of like interest and it is okay to post off topic discussi= ons. I consider most here to be my friend, whether we've met of not. If a= hurricane is passing in your area, I'd like to hear that you and your coin= s are safe. I enjoy seeing a picture of Clem with his sons fishing. I'd l= ike to see what many of you look like because we may never meet if you don'= t attend conventions. A thought I might ask Syd about is to have a biograp= hy of each of the C4 Officers, along with a picture, over the course of sev= eral issues of the C4N. If you guys saw my picture, you might wonder if it= was more likely that I was elected as C4 President for my good looks rathe= r than for my devotion to C4. <VBG> Some off topic discussions I consider= uninteresting and I delete them. Then there are a few posts that I wish w= ere never posted - when we bicker and disparage each other. It's not only = okay but it's encouraged to disagree with others here... but if an agreeme= nt can't be arrived upon, then agree to disagree and move on. There is no = need to question another's IQ or family lineage publicly here. I feel that= there are many who haven't posted because of the occasional jabs. I would= love to see people post for the first time. It's okay to ask questions th= at everyone else might already know - that's how you learn. It's okay to t= alk about the R-1 VG State Copper you just picked up at a local show. It's= okay to post that you're the proud uncle of a brand new nephew and you alr= eady sent Charlie the dues check to enroll him as a new C4 Member <BG> Yesterday was one of the worst days in my life (definitely in the top 5= ). I looked forward to returning home and losing myself in the chat groups= . I found posts about a NJ Copper found in the restoration of a house, saw = a beautiful picture of it and plenty of comments. There were discussions a= bout the Stack's Ringo II Sale on another group I'm part of. There were th= ree pictures sent to me of myself and a couple numismatic friends at a dinn= er we shared recently. A string of discussions about contemporary counterf= eits was started and there were a number of excellent replies. This is a g= reat location to get an injection of numismatics and forget about the world= for a while.=20=20 Well, Diane is in need of the computer so I'll cut my rambling short no= w. Just have fun out there! Ray
