Hi All, This afternoon I left my sick wife to attend a dinner lecture with a friend. The speaker was David Fowler, former Director of the David Library of the American Revolution which is located in Washington's Crossing State Park on the PA side. The topic was "The Confederation Period 1783-1787" I didn't know what to expect and worse case scenario, I would have been fed. Fowler talked about the Confederation Period mostly as it pertained to Washington. It was an interesting talk and I came away with some new information. When a couple people organizing the event found out I was attending, they asked if I would display some coins from the Confederation Period, and I was happy to do so. It was fun talking to people who had an interest in history but no numismatic knowledge. The coins I displayed were basically examples of the state coppers, a fugio, Nova Eborac, Nova Constellatio and two different date Immunis Columbias. I'll be giving a talk tomorrow evening at the East Brunswick Library for a Metal Detecting club and the topic will be about the state coppers. I'm looking forward to talking about my hobby and to see what wonderful coins the members have unearthed. I discovered the David Museum last Summer when I escaped an engagement party in the State Park to enjoy some air conditioning in my car. I went into the library and it is filled with racks and racks of nothing but books dedicated to colonial and Rev War history. I can't wait to get back to spend a day of fun buried in their books. So much to do in the hobby and so little time! Tomorrow is a work day for my so I'm going to call it an early evening. Good Night All, Ray
