Hello All!
I just wanted to let everyone know of an important event scheduled for May =
15, Saturday here in my home city. Jacob Perkins Mint Museum located on Fru=
it St. will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:00. If anyone in my ar=
ea of Newburyport Ma. can attend it will be pretty neat. Jim Haxby will be =
a guest speaker!
This is the location where he MOST LIKELY produced the Washington Funeral M=
edals as well as developed his technique for engraving intricate scrollwork=
on plates for paper money, and later stamps. This development was an antic=
ounterfeiting breakthrough adopted all around the world.
