Bruce, the early die states, especially on the larger (slightly) planchets = are very difficult to find -- the die must have broken pretty early, and co= ntinued to break. The late Ned Barnsley had a progression set of these tha= t, if I remember right, was something like 28 distinctly different stages! = You could go as crazy as you want with a variety like this, having an perf= ect, small break, middle break, late and an extremely late and get away wit= h just four or five coins....or you could go all the way! Luckily it's not= a rare variety, and even the earliest die states seem to only command a sm= all premium. Neat coins!

yep...here are many more...they had different shapes which I guess had diff= erent meanings. I had some heavy 18K gold, but it's all at Broadway Loan Co= . (Pawn shop) in Long Branch. Never paid the tickets so I guess they got ab= out 6 ounces of 18K gold for 300 bucks a few years ago!! (gold was about 30= 0 per ounce at the time and 18K is 75%)
