I never met Al Hoch, but have a couple of the QP reprints, and as most here=
know, they are often better than the original, with plates of equal qualit=
y and corrected text. esylum contained a link to his obituary in their 12-5=
issue

I enjoyed reading the tributes, and it's a shame that when someone of numis=
matic importance dies, the on-line guest-book dies not long after. I know w=
e will have some publications to look back on, but I thought about Mike=A0a=
nd Frank and Don=A0dying, and all of the great things people had to say abo=
ut them....nice to have the emails. If the guest-book was sponsored by a gr=
oup, ie C4, that guest book would be kept active "forever". With the tribut=
es and remembrances, it would become an informative educational tool as wel=
l as be a nice thing to do for the family. The cost is 80 dollars. I'm not =
sure if it will achieve a high google hit rating, but it would be great for=
someone who sees a name to be able to see what they meant to people with t=
hese tributes.=A030 years from now, some kid who is in diapers now will be =
reading something with Mike Ringo's name attached or referenced, and=A0 he =
could wonder who he was, and what was he like....he could then see what
people felt immediately after his death. How he touched those around him. =
wouldn't it be great to read tributes written by the friends of Maris and C=
rosby immediately following their death. It would give us a great insight i=
nto them on a personal level. I'd imagine there are some who would like to =
be reading tributes to me right about now<s>.....but that's okay.

Just a thought.
