Hi Guys,
The talk I was to give tonight at the Cedar Grove (NJ) Historical Society has been cancelled due to snow. The new scheduled date is Wednesday March 23rd. So you all stay home tonight, keep warm, and read a good book.
Thinking of a good book, I've talked about it before but Island in the Center of the World by Russell Shorto is well worth the read. We've all had knowledge of the settlements at Jamestown, Williamsburg, Boston... British settlements. Knowledge of this part of our history is very important, but don't neglect the importance of New Amsterdam and other non-British settlements. This book gives you an excellent perspective of early colonial America including finances and trade. You'll enjoy this book as it reads like a novel but is pure documented history.
