Hi Guys,
As promised a week or so ago, attached are images from the Machin's=20 Mill marker at Lake Orange, NY. The second image is the stream right behi= nd=20 the marker.=20=20=20 I was wondering why one would even want a mill to operate a mint??? The=20 screw press and cutting of planchets were done manually. The devices I've= =20 seen sketches of that were used with rollers to make the copper stripes we= re=20 manually operated. Why did Ogden & company and Machin use a mill location= =20 for their operations? Mould didn't, that I know of...=20=20 Ray =20 =20 Craig, You can use these for your marker registry files.
