This must be the year for starting off with decent finds, my first metal de= tecting find last month on my first hunt was my first Baby Head Vermont, bu= t not in great shape, which a matter of feet made the difference, last year= I got a beautiful NJ copper no more than 25 feet away but further from the= wet ground area.....=C2=A0=20
This Saturday, one of my friends from the South Jersey Metal Detecting Club= and from a few detecting sites on Facebook started off 2014 for a first fi= nd also of a Vermont.=20
His after a bit of struggling by me to ID correctly and I should have gotte= n it correct since I have found one also, a Ryder 21.=C2=A0=C2=A0 I am fair= ly certain Don Mituzas said it is an early die state for the R-21 and his f= or being a grounder has lots of detail. (I initially thought it was a Ryder= 23). Of course much better being the R21 instead of R23.... :)=20
Vermont's did circulate in NJ, but of course not many are found in the grou= nd. I have five between myself and my son Dan.=20
