    The colony of Virginia authorized coinage that never came to be on a couple=
    of occasions. The right of coinage=C2=A0was never questioned. The long neg=
    ation with the Kings Privy Council=C2=A0was over the correct weight=C2=A0fo=
    r Virginia money. Which was set at 116 grains, much lighter than=C2=A0Engli=
    sh or Irish money. I think a lot of the delay was political posturing by Vi=
    rginia Treasurer Robert Carter Nicholas=C2=A0=C2=A0trying to put his name b=
    efore the King. After the coins were struck and delivered he delayed distri=
