    I did a little reading and found that this James Otis was another one of=20
    those Boston rablerousers - a trouble maker that published pamphlets in=20
    defiance of the government at the time. =C2=A0He stirred up discontent amon=
    g=20
    the colonists against the peaceful (and just) society that had been=20
    established by the King & Parliament in His Majesty's colonies and=20
    plantations.=C2=A0
    =C2=A0 =C2=A0 All kidding aside, just reading the one document Will notes b=
    elow,=20
    it's obvious this lawyer is well educated, has a good command of words=20
    and is a philosopher. =C2=A0I found it something I had to read thru very=20
    slowly. =C2=A0I doubt that it was written for the agrarian=C2=A0section of=
    =20
    society. =C2=A0Besides espousing democracy, he also takes a stand against=20
    slavery. =C2=A0
    =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0There was much going on in colonial times. =C2=A0I neve=
    r heard of Otis=20
    until Will's mention of him. =C2=A0I'd like to take a course or two on our=
    =20
    colonial history.

    I think there was a typo earlier. The Stamp Act passed in 1765, not=20
    1756. =C2=A0Repealed in 1766.

    Best,
