Aloethaler Public Deposited
In 1701 an aloe, which had been introduced to Germany a few years previously, blossomed for the first time, and in commemoration thereof the Dukes' Rudolph August and Anton Ulrich of Brunswick-Wolfenbiittel struck a Tha- ler. This coin lias on one side a figure of the plant in bloom, with an appropriate description.
