A copper coin of India, the six- teenth part of a Rupee. It. is subdivided into four Pice or twelve Pies.
It is referred to early in the eighteenth century by A. Hamilton, in A New Ac- count of the East Indies , 1727 (ii, App. 8), who states that " in Bengal their accounts are kept in Pice, twelve to an Annoe, six- teen Annoes to a Rupee."
