Anchor Pieces Public Deposited
The name given to a series of silver coins struck in 1822 under George IV of England for general use in the West Indies, Canada, and Mauritius. The issue consisted of a half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth of a dollar; on the reverse is an anchor, crowned, between the figures of value and the inscription: coloniar beit an monet.
