A half- Angel. It was of simi- lar type as the preceding and the original reverse inscription was O CRUX AVE SPES UNICA (" Hail, O Cross, our only hope "). In the time of Elizabetli the motto had been changed to an abbreviated form of A DOMINO FACTUM EST ISTUD ET EST M IRA- BILE IN OCULIS NOSTRIS (" This is the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes "). The Angelet was discontinued in 1619.
