Angevin Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A term originally used to distinguish the Deniers struck at Angers from those of Tours. Later the name Angevin or Angevine was applied to the double Gros issued in Flanders and the Low Countries which was copied from the French type. There is an extensive series struck by the Bishops of Metz, beginning with Thierry V (136:5-1384).
