Asmani 上市 Deposited
A name given to the copper forty-cash piece of Mysore, by Tipu Sultan, in 1789, after the adoption of his new system of reckoning. This sys- tem was begun in 1786, and based on the Muludi, i.e., dating from the birth of the Prophet. The coin is so called after 'Usman-ibn-'Affan, the third khalifa. See Mushtari.
