  • A name given to four varieties of brass tokens which were issued about the year 1857 and used by the Hudson's Bay Company in its trad- ings with the Indians. The largest of these tokens is of the value of one beaver- skin, and the others are fractions of one half, one quarter, and one eighth. See Breton, Coins and Tokens Relating to Canada . 1894.
