Berner Pubblico Deposited
were diminutive base silver coins current in Tyrol from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century. They were copied from the Deniers of Verona, called in German, Bern, which must not be confused with the Swiss town Berne or Bern. Four Berner were equal to one Vierer, and twenty Berner were equal to one'Kreuzer, or Zwainziger. See Frey, The Dated European Coinage Prior to 1501 . 1914. (No. 72).
