  • meaning Groschen made of booty, was a name given to certain vari- eties of silver coins struck in 1542 by the Elector Johann Frederick of Sachsen and the Landgrave Philip of Hessen. They were minted from captured silverware and bore the portraits of the two rulers with the inscription BEVT. G. V. WOLFBVT.
