Biche Publique Deposited
A copper coin struck by the French at Pondichery for Mahe on the Malabar Coast. It corresponds to the Pice and is the fifteenth part of a Fanam (q.v.). There are divisions of halves and quarters. See Zay, Histoire monetaire des colonies franchises . 1892. (p. 289).
