Brillenthaler Öffentlichkeit Deposited
The name given to a variety of Thaler issued by Duke Julius of Brunswick-Luneburg at Goslar from 1586 to 1589. They are of the so-called " Wild Man " type, and from the arm of this fig- ure there hangs a skull, an hour-glass, and a pair of spectacles (" Brille "). See Louis aux Lunettes.
