Bungtowns Publique Deposited
A name given to clumsy imitations of the English half pennies which circulated extensively in Pennsyl- vania and the other states in the latter part of the eighteenth century.
The name is probably derived from the slang term, " to bung, " meaning to cheat or deceive.
